XML, The Next Wave In Web Design
Editor's Note
08.25.00
XML is the most powerful Internet language invented. XML is such a
neat language that it is both, machine readable and human readable.
For example, in HTML, you would use the tag <body> when working with
a web site dealing with magazines. In XML, we could use the tag <magazine> when describing the magazine. So, for those of you who
know HTML or are trying to learn it you should have an easier time
writing XML, but here are the challenges. In order to make an XML
document, you should be familiar with XML (the data), XSL (the
formatting or display) and XML Schemas. XML Schemas provide the
basic infrastructure for building interoperable systems based on
XML since they give you a common language for describing XML that
is based on proven software engineering principles.
In today's NetDummy, I have tried to put together a list of
some of the most useful tools that you need to create the best XML
and XSL documents possible.
We hope that you find this newsletter interesting and useful.
