A website owner can create or join a Webring. A WebRing is a way to group sites of similar interest together in a "Ring." Links on each page allow you to move from one site to the next, eventually traveling the entire Ring to end up where you started.

Webring Notes
- It takes a lot of time to set one up and maintain.
- Some newbies to computers have trouble inserting the ring codes in
their pages, no matter how simple you make the instructions. You
might have to do some hand holding until they get it.
- There are also those who try to violate the rules and join the

- Some "Ringmasters" allow web site owners the chance to
automatically join the ring, it would be a good idea to do it
yourself so that you are assured that everybody has links
pointing to others and are not just to themselves.
- This whole concept was started by Webring.org. WebRing was first
created in June, 1995, by Sage Weil(Now 19 and in college),
launched in March, 1996.
- WebRing drew its initial inspiration from a similar structure
called EUROPa (Expanding Unidirectional Ring of Pages).
- By the beginning of 1997, there were over 1,000 Rings on the
system, and by May of that year 10,000. By April, 1998, there were
over 40,000 Rings on WebRing.
